Jennifer Lopez Says Filming Kissing Scenes Still Makes Her Nervous

Delhi – Los Angeles : Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez has revealed that filming kissing scenes on screen still makes her nervous despite decades of experience in the entertainment industry.

The multi-hyphenate star recently attended the premiere of her upcoming romantic comedy ‘Office Romance’ alongside co-star Brett Goldstein at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre, where she candidly spoke about the awkwardness of intimate scenes on set.

“I’ve been doing this a long time. I want to say that I was fine, but it’s always a thing. It’s like, ‘Okay, I have to kiss this person that I don’t know and I’m just getting to know you.’ You get a little nervous, that’s all,” Lopez shared.

Goldstein, best known for his role as Roy Kent in the hit series ‘Ted Lasso’, admitted that the pressure of cameras and lights can make such moments even more intimidating. However, he believes the best approach is to stop overthinking and simply “go for it”.

In the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy, Lopez essays the role of Jackie Cruz, a powerful CEO who unexpectedly falls for her newly hired employee Daniel Blanchflower, played by Goldstein. The story follows the pair as they navigate a secret workplace romance while deciding to break free from corporate rules and follow their hearts.

Lopez also opened up about her first impressions of Goldstein, saying she was pleasantly surprised by his personality off-screen.

“I expected more of a rough guy, but you get this kind, gentle but also very smart person that is so charming. That was a surprise, I think,” she said.

The actress added that she had long admired Goldstein’s work in ‘Ted Lasso’, especially his portrayal of fan-favourite character Roy Kent.

“I was a huge fan of his from him doing Ted Lasso. Roy Kent, that’s one of my favorite characters. I thought he was going to be more like the character, but he was so soft-spoken and sweet and totally different,” Lopez shared.

Goldstein had earlier revealed that he and co-writer Joe Kelly specifically wrote ‘Office Romance’ with Jennifer Lopez in mind while travelling by train during the filming of the third season of ‘Ted Lasso’.

The romantic comedy is set to stream on Netflix later this year.
